The Breach drops guests into Bunker 16, a 1953 military research facility where a mutation-causing leech has turned personnel into something else entirely. Tucked inside a private Scottsdale home, Steve Birkett’s House of Haunts has built a reputation as one of the most elaborate home haunts in the Valley. The walk-through borrows pieces of Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion, the Lost Dutchman Mine, and the hotel in “The Shining,” all tied together with a laser “swamp” and a skeleton horseback rider under a synchronized thunder-and-lightning show. Scare actors, fog, strobes, tight spaces, and uneven walkways add up to one of the more intense stops on this list.
